After receiving her Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy and establishing an excellent foundation in adult neuro/rehabilitation, Donna decided she had to follow her heart into pediatrics. She pursued a Master's Degree in Developmental Psychology with a concentration in Neuroscience from Colombia University/Teacher's College. Working in pediatrics proved to be the right choice as Donna demonstrated an innate ability to understand a child's needs and tap into a child's inner drive to reach his/her full potential. As she started witnessing great progress in her children, she realized starting her own company was the direction she wanted to take.
Donna's desire to teach other therapists to provide the same high quality therapy for children was the motivation she needed to fulfill this dream. Donna Klein & Associates, Inc. began in 1990 with Donna and a few employees. It continued to grow each year due to its solid reputation, and eventually became Westchester Therapy Solutions.
Each therapist must get through a highly rigorous interview process with our administrative team. Professionalism, clinical knowledge, experience, ability to establish rapport with children and passion are all essential. As a result, therapists are exceptional, dedicated, warm, and engaging. Parents see impressive progress in their children’s abilities and are grateful for the confidence their children develop. Therapists attend ongoing continuing education to ensure provision of cutting-edge approaches to the children we serve. Matching a child with his/her unique set of needs to a therapist with the right expertise is a top priority for Westchester Therapy Solutions.
Donna became an Occupational Therapist in 1986 and founded Donna Klein & Associates to provide OT and PT services. She eventually expanded services to include speech/language/feeding therapy and changed the name to Westchester Therapy Solutions (WTS). Donna has dedicated her career to helping children reach their potential while supporting families and educating parents along the way.
She has worked closely with local area school districts, and the Westchester County Department of Health for nearly 25 years. As a result, she is highly familiar with the ins and outs of school- based services, Early Intervention and Preschool services. As a mom herself, she genuinely understands parental concerns and believes every parent is his/her child’s best advocate. Both parents and administrators find Donna to be highly knowledgeable, easy to work with and an asset to their team.
Donna’s expertise lies in Sensory Integration, Autism Spectrum disorders, ADHD/executive functioning limitations and perceptual motor disabilities. She received a Bachelor of Science in OT from S.U.N.Y. Buffalo, a Master’s Degree in developmental psychology from Columbia University and holds a Certification in Sensory Integration. Donna lives with her husband Garry and Golden Doodle Sunny. Her sons, Jordan and Zachary are currently away at college and continue to make her proud. See more about Donna ▶
Cathy has been part of the WTS team for over ten years and has over twenty-five years of OT experience working with children. She specializes in meeting the needs of the multiply handicapped, brain injured children and those with hand injuries. Cathy is all about a child’s “ability” not his /her disability. She focuses on what the child can do, not what they can’t do. Cathy is well known for bringing humor and warmth to all children and the families she serves.
Cathy’s extensive experience and passion for helping children and supervising therapists helps make WTS an exceptional place for children to reach their full potential and for our therapists to thrive with her leadership. Cathy is always available to brainstorm with therapists and assist them to build upon their treatment plans. She is an expert in school district policies and navigating the needs, priorities and goals of each family we serve.
Before joining our Westchester Child Therapy Team, Cathy ran the splinting/equipment clinic at a local pediatric rehabilitation center for many years. She provided creative solutions for a wide range of challenges faced by children and their families.
Cathy became an Occupational Therapist in 1988, graduating with honors from New York University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree.
Sheila has worked since 1997 as a Physical Therapist. She graduated from Cebu Doctors University in the Philippines and migrated to the USA starting her career in pediatrics and has never looked back. Sheila’s expertise lies in working with the visually impaired, children with movement disorders/delays and children with orthopedic or neurological limitations. Our Westchester child therapy team was fortunate to have Sheila join our staff in 2001 as she provided home care services for Early Intervention and CPSE children and their families. After leaving for a few years to have children of her own Sheila returned again to WTS in 2012.
Sheila brings boundless energy and the talent of how to bring out the best in our children. The fun she provides is loved by all, resulting in every child looking forward to seeing her each time. Sheila believes every therapy session should be fun and exciting. Not only does she have a way with our children but she also enjoys educating and working closely with families to ensure strong carry over in the child’s home environment.
As our PT supervisor she helps to orient new staff and provide new learning opportunities for all our PT’s. She is readily available to all of our therapists, children and their parents/caregivers. Sheila’s ultimate goal is to ensure that each child achieves their full potential. Her professionalism and depth of knowledge is a wonderful asset to the WTS administrative team.
Mary has been working with children with speech and language disorders for over twenty-five years. She recently joined WTS and we are thrilled to have her on board. She specializes in therapy for children with apraxia of speech, oral motor disorders, receptive/expressive language delays, and articulation and phonology disorders.
Mary strongly believes that treating the child in conjunction with educating the parent is the key to success. “It is amazing to watch the world open up to a child when he/she is able to communicate with family and friends.” She is a dedicated professional who devotes herself to meet the needs of every child she encounters.
As our Speech and Language Supervisor, Mary is always available to support and assist our speech pathology staff and the wonderful families they serve. Mary received her Bachelor of Science in Speech and Hearing from Mercy College and her Master’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology from Hofstra University.
Sunny is Donna's Golden Doodle (hypoallergenic) therapy dog. She has grown up in the clinic since she was a puppy and stays on the administrative side of the office and is only called upon for her service if a child and parent choose to explore their own comfort level with her. Children working on tactile defensiveness or other sensory processing issues sometimes gain therapeutic support from a loving dog trained to offer safe support. Sunny allows every child his/her space. They can pet and cuddle with her if and as they desire.
Beth began working with our Westchester child therapy team as a staff therapist in 2000, left for several years to have children and returned in 2012 as our Program Manager. She enjoys working with children of all diagnoses and levels of functioning. Beth believes that therapy for children should be fun and exciting for all the children she works with. She also enjoys educating and working closely with families to ensure strong carry over in the child’s home environment.
Beth supervises the sensory-motor clinic and supports both the therapists and the families answering any questions or concerns that may arise. She helps ensure the highest quality care is provided.
Beth graduated from the University of Scranton with honors and received a Bachelor’s of Science degree.
